Startup islands

A venture is a startup with a home island. Its island has two halves:

  • Public grounds, open to visitors once the island is set to Open to Harbor or Public: a showcase stand, a hiring board (up to 8 roles and 4 screenshots), the founders’ spot, a guestbook and launches.
  • The HQ, which stays team-only whatever the island’s level: its rooms, agents, sessions and brain.

The HQ grows with the venture, from a cosy solo hall to a team floor and a company floor.

  • Start a venture in the app makes the venture and its home island. It also gives you a teammate invite link, valid for 7 days and 5 uses.
  • Or, from a terminal: acre connect https://yourstartup.com (or a GitHub repo). One approval in the browser creates the island and its profile.

You can host up to 5 ventures (1 on a guest account).

Hosts set the island’s look in the Brand tab:

  • One accent colour. It is adjusted where needed so it sits well with ACRE’s palette.
  • A logo. PNG only, up to 256 KB. JPEG and WebP are converted to PNG in your browser first. SVG is not accepted.

An organization is a community venture: a sub-hub between Harbor and members’ own islands. Organizers are its hosts and members its teammates. It can be listed, unlisted or private, and people join with an invite link, a verified email domain, a join request, or open join.

Anyone with a saved account can make one (up to 3 at a time). A new organization starts private, and a private one looks exactly like one that doesn’t exist.
