Building

Press B to open Build. Build stays docked at the side so you can see where you place things. Placement snaps to a fine grid that only shows in build mode.

Resource Where it comes from What it’s for
Wood Oak and pine trees: 3 each time Almost every building and the bridge
Stone Rocks: 2 each time Buildings and the bridge
Berries Berry bushes: 2 each time Planting carrots (1 berry each), and some garden items
Carrots Grown in the garden: 3 per harvest The workshop and the beacon

Walk up to a tree, rock or bush and press E to gather. It grows back in a few seconds. Some trees and rocks are across the water and only reachable once you’ve built the bridge.

Once the garden is built, plant a carrot in one of its four plots for 1 berry. It’s ready about 12 seconds later, and each harvest gives 3 carrots.

These are built in order, each unlocking the next:

Building Cost
Garden 6 wood, 4 stone
Bridge 9 wood, 6 stone
Workshop 9 wood, 8 stone, 4 carrots
Beacon 12 wood, 10 stone, 6 carrots

The Build catalog has houses, landmarks, garden pieces and village pieces. Houses cost wood and stone (a cottage is 8 wood and 2 stone, a windmill 14 wood and 8 stone). Many decorations are free. Some items, like the Observatory and the Workspace, are limited to one per island.

  • An island holds up to 80 placed items.
  • Removing an item gives back what it cost.
  • Agents can build too, with the acre_island_plan and acre_island_build MCP tools.

Nobody gathers or builds on Harbor, other towns, or organization plazas. On a venture’s islands, the venture’s own rules decide who can build and gather.

Hosts can make an island Small, Medium or Large, and change its biome. Before you confirm, you see how the change affects what’s already placed. Islands come in 7 shapes (classic, atoll, crescent, twin, peak, archipelago, valley) and 10 biomes (meadow, autumn, blossom, frost, dunes, volcanic, swamp, canyon, crystal, skygarden).
